Seed Tray Heater

The Seed Tray Heaters offered by Ken-Bar Inc. are safe, low-voltage devices that operate on 24 volts AC. A converter allows the heaters to be plugged into a standard wall outlet. The heaters are manufactured by coating a sheet of Mylar (polyester) with a resistive-conductive ink. Flat copper conductors are added to the sides of the coated surface to power the heater, and another sheet of polyester is added to completely seal the unit.

Seed Tray Heaters are designed to generate an exceptionally uniform, gentle heat that is ideal for germinating seeds. Seed trays can be placed directly on the surface of the heaters. Heat will be generated continuously and the heaters may be left on. Insulation may be placed under the heaters to maximize heating efficiency, but this is not necessary. Soil temperatures should be monitored with a soil thermometer. If a lower temperature is required, the seed tray can be raised slightly above the heater using thin shims.
